The Importance of (Self) Love

Self love is one of the most important things you can do for yourself as it allows you to feel confident and content in your own skin. Often when we feel unmotivated or uninspired, we look to others, often forgetting our most powerful tool; our self!

It sounds overly simple, yet loving yourself can be one of the most difficult things to do. 

Here is a list of ways to practice self-love daily:

1. Keep a gratitude journal

2. Nourish your body with good food

3. Move your body

4. Practice yoga/ meditate

5. Read an inspiring book

6. Watch TED talks that motivate you

7. Every time you pass a mirror, say three things you love about yourself (external or internal)

8. Be okay with where you are at right now

9. Accept what you ultimately can't change (e.g. physical appearance) and focus on those things that you CAN change (e.g. character traits)

10. Talk to yourself as you might to a friend, with love and care

11. Forgive yourself when you make a mistake - think about what you can learn for next time

12. Laugh daily

13. Sit/ stand with your shoulders back and arms by your side - by slouching or crossing your arms you give the impression that you aren't confident (to both yourself and others)

14. Wear clothes that make you feel amazing

15. Have a pamper evening

16. Have a playlist of songs that you LOVE

17. Let go of relationships that are bringing negative energy into your life

18. Get enough sleep

19. Do things that will make you less stressed tomorrow. Look out for yourself.
